Armin [pronounced Armine] was a Frankish soldier who distinguished himself at the Battle of Vouillé in 507 against the Visigoths.

As a reward for his bravery, Clovis offered him a county in the southwest of France. This land, first called "Arminius", the land of Armin in Latin, became "Arminhac" in Gascon before taking the definitive name "Armagnac".

A WELL-PRESERVED TREASURE
Ageing, or ageing, is carried out in 420-litre French oak barrels. They are made by Gilles Bartholomo, the last artisan cooper in the region. He hand-produces 500 pieces per year. It is also the unique knowledge of all the craftsmen who create Armagnac that we seek to highlight.
A PROJECT: FREE ARMAGNAC
To remain Gascon is to do things in your own way, without worrying about what others think. It's daring to use it in cocktails, and drink it other than as a digestive. It means producing in limited quantities, coming from a small region. Not taking himself too seriously, the Gascon sells his Armagnac not as a simple marketing product, but as a piece of history, with only one rule: to remain free.
