Bruno Moretti’s Vision: Ulu & Savik – A Reinvention of the Knife

Designer Bruno Moretti sought to distill the essence of the knife into three defining principles:

✔Radical – A return to the knife’s purest form.
✔ Elementary – A design so simple that it enhances the high-tech precision of its craftsmanship.
✔ Archetypal – A blade that embodies the truest expression of a knife.

Thus, the Ulu and Savik knives were born. Inspired by Inuit traditions, where men and women have distinct knives—Savik for men, Ulu for women - this philosophy now finds its way to the Michelin-starred tables of Guy Savoy. The way a person grips a knife varies, even in a fine dining setting far from the Arctic cold, making these knives a harmonious blend of heritage and modern culinary artistry.
